I’m not ashamed to admit that I dumped a few unprintable expletives after STALKER: Call of Pripyat me briefly in the sinister-as-ever pronounced Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. I’ve been here I bleeps immune to the moaning, growling and Geiger counters. But moves in the pantheon of heroes stalker, Major Alexander Degtyarev up short: After a short introductory video explains the failure of the military operation “Fairway” – an attempted burglary in the air in the middle of the zone – Degtyarev dumped in the ruthless desert is just cannon, some rations, and a bit of anti-radiation drugs. Oh, f ** k

Unfortunately Survivalist part of this abomination was not playing very long. Stalkers, bandits, mutants and mercenaries, only when confronted with the same area of hyperactive immune system. Way too-frequent problems – World flushing of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant belching – leave the area so littered with corpses, scrounging the acceleration is no problem, to say the least. Each new day brings dozens of deaths, if you’re willing to look for them and their equipment to capture the entire “denies man against nature” excuse.

Sure, it’s fiction, matching conditioner, and no, the dealers will not pay a cent for damaged piece of a dead man, but who cares? Finally I found myself dozing only emission trigger extinction rages and picking at a distance of shots on the choice of all bits accessible. A backpack full of goods that acts as a security blanket: Nothing heals the evil zone change as a few hundred rounds of Buckshot.

Perhaps the excess of the equipment was intended. After all militiamen to remain in good condition requires access to a technician and a ton of money, now more than ever. And the average time stations in the area, hang-up weapons dropped in favor of directors, which semi-functional chunk close to receiving junk ammo. But the emissions of more than just line your pockets with ammunition and meat: You are spawning new mutants and artifacts, seemingly randomly.

If you drive in a leech meander in the streets as a door-to-door proselytizer is a joint action after the issue. All power, all fraught internal structure of the environment in the area is out the window when the daily meetings so damn real. Burer’s brand new creature – a psychic, pistol-grip dwarf in a trench coat – appeared in the opening day, long before I had the opportunity to build a subway had met. Creatures disconnected from its creepy, claustrophobic natural habitats, the player for fear of divorce, and a little more of a big game hunter with a trophy in their scope. Is But hey, maybe the hardening, the hardness of the zone is intended to also.

During the quarterly conference call with financial analysts yesterday, game developer THQ investors the good, the bad, and the “Arc” yet.

THQ President and CEO Brian Farrell told a return to profitability in the third quarter of the company, but said changes still needed to strengthen their financial goals in the fourth quarter and reach beyond, too. As a result, the company plans to dismiss about 60 employees of Juice Games Rainbow Studios and its affiliates. The Studios will be renamed Warrington THQ Digital Studios and Phoenix, respectively, and both are now exclusively on the development of downloadable games for Xbox Live, PSN, and concentrate the iPhone.

But perhaps most interesting was revealed Farrell respect to the motion controller from Microsoft (Natal) and Sony’s as-yet-unnamed device developed:

We are on our continued leadership in focused [the children and casual] category, benefiting from the lower hardware prices, we want to make new players and new mass-market family-friendly platforms such as Microsoft and Sony’s Arc attractive Natal motion controller.

Farrell described motion controllers such as Sony’s Arc “stop three times during the conference call in order to solve the mystery of the anonymous device – right? Not according to Sony corporate communications director Patrick Seybold. This morning Seybold posted this brief comment on his Twitter page:

No, we are not aware of the name of our motion controllers. He was referring to the rumor as a code name.

In addition to the motion controller speculation, THQ has updates on a number of titles in development. The rest of Red Faction: Guerrilla and de Blob are planned for 2011, along with the original title homefront. In addition, Saints Row and continue Darksiders planned for 2012.

Link Dump Fridays

Link Dump Friday

DoraIt’s been a while since we have worked aggressively, your brains saturated with so many bright colors and bizarre so many nice pictures of how the human brain may explode in a huge train of candy bunny rabbits and rainbows resist. Therefore this week to offer Link Dump Friday features nothing but the brightest, the sweetest, and weirdest games on the internet. That’s right, I scoured the Web () not true at hundreds of locations (the three or four really), and hours looking carefully picked each book (indeed I am) a liar. How masculine men avert their eyes. Girly girl, hold my hand and step into the rainbow. Manly men was not interested are allowed, but things have their PINKIES extended for the duration of drinking.

* GlueyGluey – Play your match-3 games, but more like physics and incredibly attentive small black eyes, like the kind that probably peer out your closet while you sleep? Well, want no more! Gluey is a game about how Globs of colored liquid from a container to remove it by clicking if they are large enough to combine. It is bright, cheerful, and fun in small bites, before it is too repetitive.
* Banana Banana Foot Foot – you can not around these days without tripping over a physical puzzle. But how many of them are hosted by flies … chihuahua … What? Banna Foot Fox Dog is your guide to the eyes shoot portals to your toolbox full of strangeness. You’ve probably seen similar ideas, but probably not walk with such weirdness cheerful sense. I look forward to the sequel, Apple almonds.
* Turtillion IslandTurtillion Iceland – Hey, idealistic fourteen years old girl! Love animals? Sick of Wildlife conservationists to chase you dig up turtle eggs, as you would a super good care of this endangered species? Then we have a game for you! This time-management game is probably too slow and easy to entice everyone, but for those of you who just want a dose of fun casual games between doodling unicorns on your laptop and giggling over cute guys will Turtillion Iceland.
* Coconut Them Them coconut – although the gameplay is easy in this shooter / defense title from Grim Game, it is the eccentric presentation that you ask anything about the bowl of cereal you had breakfast this morning. Wizards, warriors, and, uh, police car on fire when you wiggle aesthetic approach castle gates in a strange soundtrack. If defense games to go, it’s actually pretty standard, well done, so unobtrusive, and slow gameplay. But its strange and wonderful sense of style, I. .. I think I find it a bit.
* Choco 2Choco Valentine Valentine 2 – You can not be a strange and cute Link Dump Friday without naming Minoto, the creator of the lovable madness as the beard of Santa Claus. It has a snot-nosed Yeti, a giant fluffy dog and a snowman volleyball. Among other things, are all great too. Plus, it serves as a reminder that a certain holiday coming up soon, to remind you about your purchases. (Pssst! I tulips!)
